'Hippie' tune makes history!

A couple of weeks ag my dad brought home a printed article about Jason Mraz I'm yours making history, and i have been meaning to post it. But today after school my mom was on yahoo and as the top headline was 'Hippie' tune makes history. I couldn't belive it was the headliner, and i thought it was awesome! So here was the article and it is very cool. Good Job Jason!! (and great pic:)

Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" may be the longest running song in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but the hippie-friendly jam has been around even longer.

Mraz has played the song on tour for five years, and he said fans at live shows always responded differently to it, inspiring him to release the song as a single.

"The song was really born into the crowd. ... I noticed almost an immediate response to it and people really celebrated in a different way during that song," he said in a phone interview. "And then by having those three years to jam to the song, it gave us the opportunity to do something simple, yet spirited" in the studio.

"And now of course, that we've been playing with people really owning it on the record, it's taken it to a whole new level," he said.

"I'm Yours" first charted in May 2008, hit No. 6 in September 2008 and has spent 71 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. (The previous record-holder, LeAnn Rimes' late-1990s hit, "How Do I Live," lasted 69 weeks.) Mraz's tune also nominated for "Song of the Year" at this year's Grammy Awards.

Though the accomplishment is one the 32-year-old is proud of, he says it doesn't mean he's necessarily reached a milestone in his career.

"I don't feel like I crossed a finish line. I don't feel like I've sweated for 70 weeks. I feel like the song is just doing its thing and it was a real gift," he said.

Mraz has spent the last two years on the road promoting his latest CD, the platinum-selling "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things." That time on tour has been documented to "Jason Mraz' Beautiful Mess - Live from Earth," a live CD/DVD out Nov. 10.

"Before we hang up our hats for the year, I thought it would be great to capture the concert in an adventurous style so that my grandmom can see what I've been up to for two years," he said with a laugh. "She doesn't like YouTube. She says the quality ain't that good."

Concert

The Jason Mraz concert was on Monday 8/17/09. It was amazing Jason Mraz interacts with the crowd so much whenever he puts on a live show! He had chalk that you could write him a message on the asphalt. He also had beautiful curtain tents set up. With his favorite game also set up to play. We played the game with a very nice girl named Elise. She is the manager of Cafe Gratitude, and help set up the awesome set up. She also sang Lucky with Jason Mraz,Which when we meant her we didn't know she was a great singer like she is!! She told us a little about Jason. And she was super nice, and cool.
So Jason if you are reading this great set up and it was awesome that Elise talked and played the game with us! Great pick!

Jason Mraz will be performing on NBC's Today Show on August 7th (Friday). At Rockefeller Center Plaza. **The concert is Free!**

Me and my twin brothers birthday was just a little bit ago! As you know from my last post. Well guess what i got............?? My mom and dad got me a Tiffany jewlery set(ring, necklace, earrings) I have always wanted Tiffany's it is my favorite jewlery!! My little brother got me a beautiful watch to go with it!!

But my twin brother got me a......Jason Mraz autographed cd insert! That was very nice!

I guess i'm just Lucky. ;)

So as you can see i got a balloon birthday background on my blog! That's because it is me and my brothers birthday on the 31. We are having a big Luah party on August 1!! We can't wait. My lovely Aunt, and Uncle is letting us have our party there! They have a nice inground pool! We invited all of our friends, and it will be a blast!

And Guess what........-I get to have a big party, then in in a couple weeks i get to go to a Jason Mraz concert! Isn't life Great??

Have you ever been to a Jason Mraz concert? Did you have a blast?

Well I have and i love them. He interacts with the crowd so much and is so much fun! He has you sing, Dance, and much more! The last concert i went to was last November. I am going to another one in August for his Gratitude Cafe Tour. I have a video of the last concert i went to. (I did not take that video)

My little brother is coming. It will be his first Mraz concert, he is soo excited!! Just like me! He loves Jason Mraz as well. My little brother is a great singer. He sings I'm Yours, and many more of Jason's songs. I think he could make something out of his talent one day!

Hey Everyone!

My first post!!! This is actually my third blog. I used to have a Jason Mraz fan blog. But i decided to come back to blogger!

Well my name is Gina, i am a teen, with awesome parents, and a twin, younger, and older brother! I love my family, and friends. I have a great life and am so thankful for everything life has to offer. My favorite singer obviously is Jason Mraz. I think his singing is perfect. He has a beautiful voice and he is so nice and down to earth!
